We started ILTequila because we were tired of tequila recommendations that were really just ads. Every "best tequila" list seemed to rank whoever paid the most, not whoever made the best spirit. So we built the guide we wished existed — honest scores, real reviews, and rankings based on what actually tastes good.
We score every bottle on a 10-point scale across flavor, smoothness, value, and versatility. Our rankings are independent — no brand has ever paid for a higher score, and none ever will. We taste blind when possible and always disclose our methodology.
We do earn commissions through affiliate links when you buy a bottle we recommend. This is how we keep the site running. But here's the thing: our rankings are set before we add any links. We recommend the best tequila first, then figure out where you can buy it. The affiliate relationship never influences the score.
